Healing Recipes

Chef Rebecca Katz struggled to find recipes her father would enjoy as he battled cancer nine years ago, so she decided to take matters into her own hands, creating meals featuring cancer-fighting ingredients and bold flavors. Soon after, Rebecca founded Inner Cook, a San Francisco-based culinary practice that helps cancer patients meet their nutritional needs. "Teaching cancer patients and their families how to get to the 'yum' can spell the difference between keeping the appetite engaged and losing interest in eating," Rebecca says.

Seminar on Chronic Degenerative Diseases

Dr. H. K. Vickery, Chairman of Quantum Total Health has come to town at the invitation of his father, Joe Vickery to conduct a health seminar specifically for our Detachment. Dr. Vickery normally charges $75.00 per person for his seminars but he will be conducting this session free for league members, their families and close friends. If you are challenged with a chronic degenerative disease such as diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, arthritis, asthma, auto-immune disorders, degenerative disk disease, etc. you should consider attending this lecture. There will be a question and answer session following the seminar on optimal health. These seminars will be held at the First Baptist Church in Texas City, located at 1402, 9th Avenue North. This is a one-time opportunity, I would encourage you to take advantage.

**I attended this seminar and it was enlightening. The foundation of health is good nutrition. Dr. Vickery is a retired Brigadier General. His candid demeanor and limitless knowledge made learning and understanding the subjects easy.
